cuttings or airlayer which do most perfer?

It seems to me and I have 0 experience so far but seems like air layering is a lot more successful than cuttings based on a lot of post on the forum about cutting rotting or other problems soli gnats ect. So who prefers cutting to air layers or vice versa. I'm gonna try both in 16. I'm gonna get some fig trees one way or another.

Air-layer in summer and rooting cuttings after fall....

Ill take an airlayer everytime i cant root to save my life. lol

During winter cuttings is pretty much the only option unless a green house is available. Would definitely do air layers I'm dying here trying to root like 20-30 cuttings it's really hard.

Airlayers seem to do better

Air layering, if you mess up at lease you still have the primary tree. As Matt said, some of us who like to do figs 365, cuttings are the only winter option.

Hi,
Ground-layers is my typical way to go.
I let my trees grow bushy, and every now and then I pull one trunk or root-shoot out.
I like to bury a bit deeper my trees when installing them in ground. This allows for the low limbs to root them selves.
That is an insurance for me that even if the tree is sick from being root-bound, it can grow new roots and grow healthy.
I'm happy I did that to my Dauphine. One branch rerooted itself and grew much more healthier than the other branches.
I tried the same with Panaché, but Panaché seems to be a harder rooter. Still the tree looks good.
