By the time the Leaves goes shrivelling, the root is allready dead and not for lack of moisture or from too much. There is nothing one can do,to save it.

Hi Herman2
You say it is going to die anyway so why not try the H2O2 treatment that so much has been written about. If it is gone beyond resuscitation then nothing will make it come back but it is possible that it may help if it is really not gone too bad.

It does not have any fungus so ,it will not work!!!!!

That happens to me too, even on bigger twigs. One day they seem OK,
then suddenly the new leaves wilt and the whole thing dies..

If you use your thumb on the bark (specially when it is still moist),
you will see that it is brown  and rotten between the roots and the
wilted green leaves. Must be some other kind of rot (no white fluff).

That is usually a dead sentence. On very rare occasions, I managed to
salvage a (big)  twig or two, by cutting off the green top (if any) and
repotting under a dome.

George (NJ).

I did,I scrached, and it was exactly like you sayed, brown, and dead.
It is not the first time for me eather that is WHY i bring it on the Forum ,maybe someone Knows why it happens.
I could never save it when in this stage.
Thanks George,for your contribution.

Don't know, Herman. I have had some well rooted cuttings, in the clear cups, that just give it up, one day. Probably a fungus or infection, but no visible symptoms.

I've got the same problem, though it seems that once they begin to leaf out and start to touch the sides of my domes the leafs start to get black, fall off and die. and if i take the dome off they wilt and die. not all of them. i'm experimenting some other ways to prevent this. any other suggestions?

When mine get too big for an inverted cup I switch to a 1-gal ziplock bag. I place the bag over the cutting then zip it from both sides until is reaches the pot. It allows more growth and growing room while keeping in the humidity.
