I finished cutting one private collection today, and I have another small one to help with Saturday (with some very exciting varieties). I have cuttings from 1 good variety from a third small collection, and waiting on a pick up time for a 4th, larger collection. Mine are about 50% done. Hope to have the info up at Encanto Farms in about week. It will be an exciting season. However, please do not e-mail ahead of time - there is just not time to answer right now.
Beautiful color, reminds me of my Hardy Chicago color that colors very well in my climate. What type is that and how did you like is taste .Im really excited for the season to begin darn winter and snow and fig plants in a deep sleep for another 60 to 70 days before they get my attention.Best Health
Thanks for the heads up, Jon. Can't wait!
I am not sure how Jon guessed it that I was going to mail him to send all to me (with some very exciting varieties) !
Looks like christmas is coming early this year, Figs got all of us addicted like its drugs. Oh boy decisions decisions this is tough and the list is not even up yet.
Nelson,Imagine yourself being at the donut shop. One of these and two of those and give me that one. You'll have two dozen before you know it.
Rafed ain't that the truth it seems like its never enough. The more you get the more you want lol talk about a serious addiction.
Ottawan, that is a Beale (Beall?) from a collection in Orange County, CA. That was where I was, today. It is one of the most beautiful figs I have ever seen. See Beall posted last summer.Taste was surprisingly good, even though a tad under-ripe.
Jon,Everytime you post a picture of a fig it's like I have to have one of those.so,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I'd like to have one of those.
Rafed,Wouldn't we all. I've been after one since last year. "Just one more."C.J.
O.k. Jon,Enough with this torture! Will you please post the cuttings for once and for all?I can't take it anymore, I NEED A FIX!
Beall cuttings root easily for me.Ottawan -- Last night found an extra small pot(Beall) that has your name on it now. It so happen my wife send me to the fig jungle(garage)in the evening as I was complaining about the wet day and boring. Thus spend the evening pruning dead tips & rearranging the jungle. Sure glad she send me there. I was recharged after the 2 hr sting with the figs.
Rafed,I'm waiting on the list too. I have some of it done, but still have cuttings to take, and waiting on one more private collection. Sue and I pruned some trees for cuttings yesterday - so we're just not quite there, yet.
Concerning Jons ListYou all have to get behind me when the list eventually goes up.I will email each individually when im done looking at the list which should take a full 24hrs. Than and only then can you look at the list. ; )Also if you believe that you will also believe that the list has just been posted as i type this at 4:36 pm Central Time ; )Seriously i dont have room for anymore plants : well maybe 1 more.
LOL. Martin, sorry to be bearer of no good news. I promised Jon I would earnestly look for an adoptive billionaire to take care of him.......not like the poor soul lottery winner who ended up in a cement block. I mean literally look after his wants, not needs.Yes, I have room for more than 1 plant. Just business sense.
I agree,One more of each!
Paully, I gotta hope you come through. That means all day, every day with the figs. ;-)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))And the F4F website would be done, not a work on progress well, there will always be something to add, but the backlog would be zero.
Congratulation JonI also had Beall, and a few ripe figs from it and can atest that it is totally different from Hardy Chicago, and as you say,I also think it is the most beautifull dark fig I have ever seen, and in a competition it will take first place for appeareance. Here is a pix from mine.I also Wanted to show my Girl Sheilla to Nelson Boy,,because she is the most beautifull girl I have ever seen. She was born,in December 1995,and is still alive and kicking, thow not as beautifull as in this pix, wich is taken when she was young.!

Herman thanks for posting that picture of Sheilla she looks beautiful, That beall fig really looks like something I want also love the fact that its a dark fig with white pulp.
Nice looking fig , but as a dog lover i enjoy the picture Sheilla most !My first Butch lived 16 years, my second Butch lived 15, Butch that i have now is 9 that sometimes gets in the picture with the other 2 smaller dogs i have. They are a joy to have .
Killer sad news today. One of the collections I had hoped to get cuttings from sent all of the cuttings to the landfill. The owner was out of town for a family medical emergency, and pruning instructions got mis-communicated, and now a whole season is lost. ;-((((((((((((((
JonThat is too bad and disappointing. I hope this one was not the one you used the word "exciting" for!
Sorry to hear that Jon.I know that must hurt a lot.
Ah that sucks, Jon was the Beall on that list or is it safe? lol im pretty sure its going to be the most popular cutting this year just have a feeling.
Yes, this one of the exciting ones, and no, the Beall is safe: that was the other exciting one.
