Cuttings time

I've received a few pm reminders that it is just about time for me to get some cuttings out to those who I promised them to. We just had our first frost a couple days ago so my trees will be shedding their leaves and I hope to start getting cuttings out next week. If anyone has previously pre arranged with me for cuttings and hasn't sent me a recent pm, please do so now so I can get myself organized.
Thanks

You were going to send me a dozen cuttings of everything on my wish list, remember? ;)

BLB, I just sent you a PM. I hope you still remember me. :)

Bob, the Dessert King cuttings you sent me are doing great. Two cutting looks like they are dying but the rest already growing leaves and looks healthy. I don't notice any roots yet looking at the clear cups. So, I'm crossing my fingers.

Hi Barry... I sent you a PM.  We had a few things lined up I think.

I wish I could send everyone everything that is on their wish lists, because of course that would mean I'd have a few more fantastic varieties and big enough to share. I have a few pms to sort through. Thanks for the boost to my memory.

It's really hard when you make arrangements by PM to trade or gift.  PM's have a way of stacking up, and it's tough to go through them all.

I'm learning the hard way to make a spread sheet for trades, so I can keep organized.  Each year as your collection and available cuttings gets larger, it gets a little harder!  Some offer cuttings free of charge and others charge a slight fee or shipping, or there is an even trade involved.  I try to keep track of all that too, and it's easier to see on a spreadsheet with addresses and emails than sorting through your PM's.

Depending on your climate, you can have cuttings available from October to April.  Just depends when your tree goes dormant.  I've received dormant cuttings already from members, but my trees are still green and fruiting, so they have to wait for the trades and I MUST keep track!

Good luck to everyone with all your trades and rooting!

Suzi,

The only way  could do a spreadsheet is if I got a few papers and spread them out on a table and wrote all the trades in. I'm not much with computer stuff. I actually should write them all out it would be easier, but thankfully it looks like most everyone has written to me and the few who haven't will no doubt do so as well. Im sending multiple varieties and honoring trades or offers for free stuff from months ago. I need the reminders!!

spread sheet? what's that? i make living out of fixing software.. yet.. i don't care to mix my pleasure with mindless piece of lifeless plastics and what not. although.. that's why i keep forgetting things i promised.. but i'll make it up as soon as i remember them.

That memory this is becoming a real issue for me lol

I guess I won't be getting the BM this year.
I am heart broken.

Suzi, I heeded your advice about the spreadsheet a few weeks ago - thank you!!  I don't have many on it which is the best time to start;)  Of course it is a work in progress, but at least with excel it makes it easier to add or delete additional data.

I did ship out a bunch of cuttings to a few people, but got tied up with family stuff. I am about to ship out the rest of my promised cuttings. Sorry for the delay to those of you who have been patiently waiting. I also have some extra cuttings that I would be happy to distribute for the cost of shipping.. I have some Aubiqua Petite, VDB, Golden Celeste and Cucumber. Maybe enough for 5 or 6 people. Send me a pm if you are interested in any of those.

Hi BLB,
I have the same problem with spread sheets, etc. I am not very tech savy, so what I use is a note book, exclusively for fig transactions.  I have three columns per page as follows. The first column is the members screen name. The second column is the members name and address. The third column is "the deal" (eg. what did we agree to do:  trade 3 of my Ischia Green cuttings for 3 of his Brown Turkey cuttings, etc.)  This way I keep every thing straight in my head.  It's pretty primitive, but it works for me.

Forever Figs, I hope you don't put your note pad in the dishwasher!!

Suzi, pretty funny stuff, lol. Happy to say my notes haven't gone in the dishwasher. Vince, somehow I muddled through it all and have a pile of packages to go out tomorrow.

One request.  Orphan!

So happy you found joy in that video!  OMG!  I still crack up with it!
