Dalmatie brebas

Hey,
At last, my first figs this year.
They were good, crunchy, no honey, but still good huge figs.
Those are from my Dalmatie tree1 . I own it since September 2010.
It went through some set back due to February 2012. I always protect it for the winter, and it was my guinea pig to find the easier winter protection.
You can see that the maincrop already popped out.

Enjoy !

I have spotted two more for later this week ...

Nice! Is it in a pot? How different is the main crop? I have one in a 1 gal , grows fast.

Hi Greenfig,
The tree is in ground.
The maincrop is smaller, more round and the interior is pink .

Thanks! I hope to see some breba maybe next year, but mine will be in a container. I will try to keep it under 2 m tall.
Somehow I have not seen many posts on this forum about this variety.

Hi Greenfig,
It seems that lots of people don't go for brebas.
I've seen some posts about this strain, but nothing about the brebas.
There is in this forum a post about a Dalmatie that is loaded like a donkey. I was amazed when I saw the photo !
It seems that my figtree will have a good load of maincrop as well this year ... Let's hope !

That tree is part of my first batch of figtrees that I bought. It is directly in the clay dirt. I just made the plantation hole twice as big as the pot, and at that time I didn't give it compost nor the protection
of an eighty liters trashcan. I realized later on, the problem of the rodents. But so far that tree is not bored ...

My first Sultane and my damn Longue d'aout were part of that batch.
Hands up, Dalmatie beat the two other strains. Sultane tree 1 did die completely in February 2012, and my "Longue d'aout" has just been surviving and apparently willing to grow this year at last ... It has some figs; I may taste
some this year ... Who knows ...

Nice photos jdsfrance! Interesting fig. The brebas resemble my Longue d'Aout brebas. When my LdA become ripe (day or two more), will post pictures.

Jdsfrance,

Great big figs congratulations!

I am looking forward to taste mine later this year or maybe next season...

Как-то я не видел много постов на этом форуме об этом разнообразии. [/ QUOTE]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhMcNO7TDx8 - Далматский в России у друга Матеоса.

Hi,
This is my harvest of the day .
The big ones are Dalmaties (4) , then Brownturkeys (2) ( left column second and the one on its right) and 1 ufti (Bottom left - should normally be red fleshed... ).
BT and ufti could have stayed two days more but I had to take them today :)
All were good . I wish I had more sun the last week instead of the constant rain ... but that's life !
