Danny Delite ,small plant have 2 figs,one is ripe and is Brown,The queston,:When I bought from original seller:Hartmann's plant co,the description was that it is a green fig?
I had originally bought 2 DD from seller both died,and recently George M gave me a small rooted cutting,wich produced this brown fruit.
Could it be a mistake?
My opinion is not,because George M is the most serious person tagging his figs religiouselly.
Now about Madeira Black:3 years young plant has about 7 fruits on,three started getting ripe a week ago,and would have been ripe,today and ready to pick.
Having a secure net over I figured out I can leave them ripe properly so I can make a honest evaluation,as for how good they are.
Surprise:They are missing this Morning.
How come?I can't answer that.
What I noticed is that creature have a way of knowing superior tasting cultivars,and will manage to get them first.
I have the Paradiso Bronze and white and they dissapear faster than I can get them most of time.
Beside Squierrell birds ,wasps,ants, I discover another creature that eats them even when the net is on because it comes underground and leave same way.
It is field mouses,I seen them and seen the hole and the skin of the fig left after they consumed it over night.
They usually consume figs on very low branches,and if plant is small all branches are in reach,of them.
