Sounds and looks like a good fig. Nice find and thanks for sharing. I hope it is a common fig, tastes great everywhere, and gets distributed widely.

I went to that house today to check on the tenants, well... nada. Nobody was inside. I also found a large Brown Turkey tree on the other side. Not that it is super exciting but it means that somebody at some point in the past cared about the figs.
Will try again in a few days.
I would feel bad to collect the cuttings now. First, I need to talk to the owner and second, every brunch is loaded with figs, there are no 'blanks' where I can reach.

Hope you have better luck next try- it sounds like a fantastic fig ! Hopefully they will allow you to take cuttings .

Maybe Barnisotte Gris?  One of the pictures in the data base has that flattened shape like LSU Gold has.

I wish I had any leads. It seems to be a Smyrna fig and very vigorous and healthy tree. Grows well in the ground and pots.

I used to keep a fishing pole in the car, now I carry clippers! Lol
