Anyone else like the look of dark figs with the white cracks? Looks way more appetizing than my Kadota with the ugly dark moldy looking spots.

That looks ripe.  You should pick it.

I find that the figs look better and better the more of them that I eat.  Even the light ones with brown spots.

I love the look of cracked skin on a fig. Even though they are less attractive, the figs with the darks spots are usually sweet and delicious.

I'll pick it soon but being in my greenhouse there's no hurry. The variety is Sultane. It's been good but not quite up to St Rita or RDB.

  Nice Sultane.  I picked one up in September from Bill's Fig Fest here in NJ.  It has one fig that I'm really hoping will swell and ripen before the cold really hits.  Now I see what I have to look forward to -- YUM!
