Dark Portuguese Pics

Here are a couple of pics of the Dark Portuguese fig. Despite the very young age the figs were very good. Also it is very productive I had to keep removing figs so it would not exhuast the young tree. I did not get a chance to compare it to my Hardy Chicago which I understand is vey similar to DP

Martin, those are nice pics! When you say DP is milder than Hardy Chicago do you mean less sweet or not as rich "figgie" in taste?

 Thanks,
  Pete

Dark Portuguese is definitely a winner. A lady saw me after giving a presentation on figs today and said, that Dark Portuguese tree I got from you 3 years ago produced 360 figs. I don't know why anyone would want to count that many figs.

I personally like Hardy Chicago for its flavor as much as PD, but I'm not sure if it's as hardy as the PD though.

Side by side its hard to tell them apart actually.  For me in containers stored in garage in winter there same no limb damage ever.

PHD , for now Dark Portuguese is milder in the figgy taste for me but tree is younger.
