I will have Dave Wilson fig trees at the end of February.Trees are in pots 5" sq x 12" and trees are 36" tall.$22 each plus no more than $17 shipping (assuming UPS doesn't raise rates at the beginning of the year).Varieties available:CelestialConadriaExcelFlandersJaniceKingPanacheTexas Blue GiantWhite GenoaIf you want to reserve a tree, please E-mail me.I am bringing these in for local customers that want a bigger tree, but anyone is welcome.
John,Can these be combined with the cutting requests?
Chris,From a timing and shipping standpoint, it isn't practical.
I'd like a Texas Blue Giant IF I can come and pick it up!Suzi
Jon,Never hurts to ask. I'm sure others were thinking the same. Whats the details on the TBG? Have not heard of this variety before.
It has never been clear. To some it seems to be mythical. To others, closer to a Brown Turkey.
The trees arrived today, a little ahead of schedule. UPS did go up the first of the year, but haven't figured out how much. They are nice, thick trunks, ranging from 28-35" with most right around 30"Janice are all spoken for.
Hi Jon...can you set aside a Panachee for me? Thank you. Do you accept Paypal? Please notify me when you need the $$. Regards,
Got it.
Hey Jon is Janice the same as Mary Lane? If not, what's the difference? Thanks,
Dennis, I'm not Jon, but I'll give some input.Janice was patented (expired last year) and the filing in 1991 said it was a sport of Kadota. http://www.google.com/patents?id=EdQqAAAAEBAJ&printsec=abstract&zoom=4#v=onepage&q&f=false (In an old document Bass sent to me a while back, Kadota itself was claimed to be a sport of Dottato). Mary Lane has held by USDA GRIN at Davis since 1982 and Jon's index lists Jelly as a synonym.
thanks Harvey. i got a couple of these coming too from Dave Wilson. Was wondering if they're the same. thanks again.
It is also known as Janice Seedless Kadota.
