A beautiful fig with a great flavor even at this time of year. It is similar to Black Mission, Maltese Falcon, Vista Mission with the color of the skin, the thickness of the skin and the pulp color.
lovely figs.
Holy, what a fig !! If I put any more in my wish list , I'm liable to be expelled!! LOL!Would you describe the taste please, Bass? I've not tasted any of the figs similar to it. Thanks
Nice;Translation: 'Of The Queen'...
Very sweet flavor, it ripened for me in the greenhouse, it would usually much sweeter when it ripens in the summer heat. Hoping to get more figs from it next year.
However it does look of a different shape.Maybe of the late greenhouse "thing"?http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/Book-review-LES-FIGUERES-A-LES-ILLES-BALEARS-Montserrat-Pons-4468317?highlight=reinahttp://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/quotDe-La-Reina-MPquot-a-promising-variety-5646757?highlight=reina
Not sure whether Bass pic's are brebas or main crop DLR. Pic's posted by Axier appears some elongation, more pronunced void & skin splits plus closer to Maltese Falcon looks. Bass pic's sure look delicious. May have to get this 'Queen'. Anyone in north america sample this one yet ?
Mine was ripened for the first time late since it started as a cutting in the spring. I'm sure if its growing in ground it has the potential to being a larger fruit. One fig was elongated the other not as much.
And in the photo looks like a very closed eye? Might be good for the southeast?
