De lu Taccarieddhru fig question

Does anyone grow this cultivator here in states? If anyone does so, please post a photo or two from its mature leaves here in this thread. Need to compare it with my small plant of De Lu T.

Thank you,
Navid.

how intriguing. Someone here will surely help. I just pooped in because it sounds quite a bit of a mystery

Edit: I did not poop. What I meant was "popped"

I don't understand. So..popped in to poop?

Sorry, Navid    Wanted to cancel this, butt couldn't.

Luke, that was the turd off topic post in this thread!

Well at least it is getting bumped for Navid.

I predict this one will go for over $500.00 on Ebay!  But we will get teased for a year or two, and then....... BAM!!

Navid!  Wish I knew something about this fig.  What is it's history?  Where did you find it?

LOL!! Sorry for the useless reply...but that sh1t was funny!

Yeah yeah... laugh it off. (It was my iphone, it has auto-spell) What I meant is Unknowns is one of favorite signature. I have a knack for sticking my nose in variants I don't know about, they are like gold mines for me. There are many instances I choose an unknown variant over a fig tree with a name. Similar to buying "Brand vs. generic" at grocery stores- same quality but for a better deal.

Hahaha. Anyway, I hope Navid can find someone with photos. I hope to say the least is an early fig variety. Now that would be wonderful.

I hope your iphone doesn't have auto smell!!

"Taccarieddhru" is Southern Italian dialect for the diminutive of "taccaro". I have no idea what taccaro is.
"De Lu" is slang for "Of the".

Any Southern Italians in the audience?

A much needed laugh for an extremely busy day. I am sure other members had a good laugh as well. Thanks guys, especially you- Jennifer :)

Thank you Frank. Found a photo of its fruit on ficuscarcia.com. No other information was found online.

Navid.

So Navid proved it produces figs in black and white!  Wow!!

I'm sticking by my former assumption which is Navid got an unusual tree and he will nourish it, take photos of it and it's fruit, and then in 2 years, sell it on Ebay for a ton of $$$!!  And this is good!

I just wish I knew where you guys get these unusual types!

Suzi

Put your cursor over the pic and the actual picture appears in color.

I asked an Italian contact in Italy but he has never heard of it. Trying another one.

Negative on the other one.

"So Navid proved it produces figs in black and white!  Wow!!"

Well, seems like this is the "FUN" thread!

Thank you
Dominick.

From my older brother, a bone fide Calabrese:
I don't know what taccarieddhru refers to.. But in Calabrese, TACCHIU means RAMO. ( branch ) So, Tacchiarieddhru means un RAMO piccolo. ( small branch )

I had someone translate this and you're going to love the answer: taccarieddhru = TURKEY

Thank you Frank and Dale. I do not believe this cultivator has any relations to any "Turkey" figs (AKA BT). Its source doe not grow and keep inferior quality figs. Only time will.

Navid.

wow - all these figs! (note Desert King and many other names we are familiar with is not here)

These are mostly ( 90 to 95%) Italian varieties.

It would be funny if it came around full circle to Brown Turkey, but I don't think so either. It was entertaining to find the name  translated, though.
