Deanna

This is a Deanna fig that reminds me of the Armenian but maybe a small step up the sweetness ladder.

I just had my First Deanna fig and all I can say is that I was watching those green figs that turned yellow in the end for a few months now. It took a long time to get it to ripen but it was worth the wait.
After eating half a fig, my wife's comment was that this was her best fig this summer. The size was larger than the average fig, almost twice as large as a Celeste and the flavor was excellent. It has a very tight eye and a thick outer skin that made it super easy to peel.

Sas: Very tasty and beautiful figs, thanks for sharing.

Tom and Sas,

Very nice photos. I notice that Tom's has a red eye and Sas not. Is this a cultural difference, or a difference in stage of ripeness?

Right from the start my few figs were of a nice size but stayed green all summer and it took a long time to get my first ripe fig. I'm thinking that this tree needs a long hot season in order to optimize the quality of its figs.
