Delicious RdB late August 2014

Enjoyed my main crop RdB -- delicious.

OMG would you people stop with all of these great RdB fruit pics already Ours won't be ready until next year !

Even the freak'n stem is red and looks good enought to nibble on.

What a winner, WOW! I'm sure they are delicious, I can taste them with my eyes.

Very nice, congrats!!

Just curious, are all the RdBs the same?
i.e., if I got some RdB cuttings from different people, should I expect the same plants/fruit from all of them?

oh Paully
I want to buy cuttings of this variety from you.....

Very nice looking fruit! I just got through potting up 2 air layers from my mother RDB just now. Thanks Wills, your the best I know! Now I got 3 of these bad boys;) I will finally get a chance to taste RDB next season. Life is good!

They look great Paul !
Hey , I thought you were out fishing , RDB must have been good enough for you to take a break for a minute.

Man those are some of the best looking RdBs I've ever seen.  You're doing something right!

Rdb looks like a great Variety
Does anyone knows its true origins- is it a breeders line or heirloom french
Origin variety.
Gonna look about it in condits notes

Very nice fig!
Agree that it should be delicious.
Shall have to find one to try and grow it here.

Same time wonder how many Ronde's are taken for Rouge's and vice-versa!!
Congratulations.

@ Kerry, Just taking some small breaks. The sockeye salmon fishing has been great. Just about to move on to target other
species - Coho salmon & Kings. Have been fishing every morning before going to work. Was in fact talking to Nelson(phone) yesterday
morning while casting for salmon in my boat. So far at least over 5 million sockeye salmon have passed the counting station on their
way to their spawning grounds. Anyway, millions more salmons are going by the 2 river systems near my house. It was an amazing sight
to see 4 large sturgeons(yesterday) jumping out from the water as I was cruising home from fishing. The large white sturgeons here can
get up to 800-900 lbs & we have a healthy population -- no retention allowed. My fishing partner is the sturgeon coordinator for tagging them.

So far some of my best tasting main crop are coming from RdB, Lebanese Red(Marius), Ginoso, Hardy Chicago, Osborne Prolific, Genovese Nero
and Salem Dark. More to come .....

Thanks for sharing pics Paully! My RDB is just starting to ripen - it is only 2 yr olds. I think we are about three weeks behind you down here on the coast. Figs + salmon = paradise!

Wow love that pulp color, making my mouth water thanks for sharing Paul.

@1King - My RdB is from Michael. Hope I gave you a Granthams Royal. This is an awesome one.
Michael sample it and it is superior in taste over Desert King. Just as productive.

Nelson, I will send you a tree, likely a sucker to replace your plant killed by last winter. Man, you
have a green thumb. Pictures of your new plants are doing very well.

YOu have had better luck with yours this year compared to mine, mine are larger than normal and with the humidity and cold they split and don't get to ripen properly, the properly ripe ones are getting attacked by the ants.

Hey Paul, Thanks I would greatly appreciate it.

Paul think those little guys like their new home. Now the most important is keeping them alive over the winter.

That is one gorgeous fig!

Hey Paul, do you protect this tree? how old is it? do you get a breba crop?  I have a small plant and it has a few figs that just started turning dark. They are beautiful. I should show off in a couple of days.  I wonder if it needs to be protected early in the spring longer, so it fruits earlier or this is its nature and will mature around this time always?

Our nights are cooling here in Seattle, but still a few sunny days ahead.

Just picked up 16 bags of pine bark fines, plan on attending a football game in Tampa then head for home tomorrow and up-potting my 3 Rondes and several others. Sound like fun?

@Grasa - Had a died back when it was in ground the first year. Plant is currently 4 yrs old and had no winter protection
after 2nd yr in-ground. My plant is grown as a bush - 8'x5'. Currently lots of RdB ripening
