My first fig of the year.
It was incredibly sweet, like refined sugar, not honey. The skin has a flavor like a good cantaloup near the rind and the pulp had a light strawberry flavor.
This is from the Desert King I got from Raintree two years ago. It has not been a very productive tree so far. This year only four figs. Which is not great for a six foot tree, but it is still young.
It has pretty heavy FMV, which may contribute to the low production, or it may be just the climate here is not conducive to brebas.
