Desert King / Adriaric Grasa main

A large, juicy, very tasty fig. Was ignored by my squirrels and birds that were after the dark figs.
Pollinated, only in California.

Really nice, Igor. I love DK, but never had one this time of year.

Igor do you believe this to be desert king?

After Grasa introduced this fig, there was a quest to ID it and most of the people agreed on the Desert King, but I still keep the Grasa's name on the label.
I also have an actual DK, they are within 90% the same. The leaves are the same but the Grasa's fruit is larger and the tree is more vigorous.

Is it true that i read that if not pollenated you only get one crop.? If so which crop is better. ? I am starting to get capri figs growing but the fruit is small. Going to try to get the wasp. If that fails i will tinker with habd pollenation

Both are great when pollinated, not sure otherwise.
I believe the tree is more productive for brebas but both crops are large and green in color.

I bought a DK tree (4" pot) about one month ago its doing great! Looking at your fig makes me drool. Thx for posting!!

How did the taste of the brebas compare to the taste of the main crop?

Not all DK same, In My area, Our DK has big brebas every year, very stable, large, juice, super sweet fig, It is sweeter than sweet grapes, people put it in freezer and eat it like healthy ice cream,  tree only has main crop once awhile when it mature.  I saw other poster in my area, he mentioned that non-Pollinated DK main crop taste dull.

I try to grow this DK fig tree, I bought 7 DK variety fig trees 1 month ago and planted it everywhere near my house, I hope that next year, I can taste some sweet figs.
