Great video., Joe. My first DK this year was not great. I think I harvested it too soon. How can you tell when it is ready?

Bill I had the same experience with DK in the past.  The thing about DK is that for some reason the figs take a little bit longer to ripen than average.  Even after they turn color and swell up you just have to let them keep ripening on the tree.  When they are getting soft that means they still need a couple of days.  They require extra time but are worth the wait.  Try waiting to pick them until after they feel soft to the touch for a couple of days.
