Different leaves on one branch

My Black Triana is in it's second summer of growing and a branch coming from near ground level has leaves that look like RDB. The rest of the tree has leaves that are wide and basically 3 lobes while the odd branch has long skinny finger leaves. When I bought it, it was just a whip so there was no grafting done to it. I'd like to see what the figs would be like on that branch but there is none forming on it yet.

Tony, any sign of this plant being grafted?  Maybe this is a shoot from the rootstock?  Otherwise it's an interesting sport.

Interesting. Wonder if it's a sport? Super curious to know what kind of fruit it eventually puts off on there.

No sign of grafting on it. I had bought it from Joe Morle in Boston so i would say there's a 99.9% of no graft. I'm planning on doing an air layer before winter incase it turns out to have different figs than the mother tree.

Great idea!  Keep us posted.

Did a closer inspection and there are rice size embryos forming. I may just get a ripe fig to compare to the others to see if there are any differences from this branch.
Counting the days now.
