When you were at Davis researching/photographing figs, did you happen to ask what the cost would be to do DNA testing on figs (by variety)? I think I've heard DNA for the crime labs run around $2K per test. Maybe the Universities can do it for less, maybe as a pHD project for a student?

Did you receive the cuttings I sent?

Hi Sue,

I didn't inquire re: DNA testing cost, but didn't expect that I was rich enough to have any done, so it was a moot point. They are in the process of testing their own accessions, and will continue to test any new accessions they acquire. You can donate scion to their collection, and presumably they would then be tested as part of their collection. This is an ongoing project for them.

The cuttings arrived Yesterday and will get prepped manana.
