Here's one of my first Black figs of the season (probably a local variety by the name of Figo Preto de Torres Novas - i'm not entirely sure, because it's a very old tree with more than forty years - i've recently bought a small tree of the same variety so i could compare the two and be sure what i have...)
This is a small black fig with a wonderful honey and figgy flavor when perfectly ripe as this one was. Not a drop of honey in sight. If i waited for one, the fig would be spoiled. This fig was not pollinated, by the way, has i don't have the wasp (yet)
