Do fig seeds influence flavor?

Do fig seeds of different varieties influence the taste more than others?  I had not given in much thought except I like the crunch, until a few days ago, when  after eating a fig and the taste was long gone, I bit down on a seed that was caught in my tooth and there was a burst of fig flavor. Any thoughts from other members on the subject?

I thought that the presence of more seeds or less seeds, or the taste of fig seeds of different varieties was based on personal taste and may temporarily get influenced by personal experience.
I am happy that you enjoyed the burst of fig flavour from a single seed.

The answer is probably, maybe, maybe not, hard to say. Almost everything affects the taste of figs, weather, soil, fertilizer, breed of neighbor's dog, etc. However, since I doubt that you actually chew many of the seeds, they likely don't have much affect. Also, however, in addition, by the way, there is this other factor: it will have seeds without caprification (pollination), but if it is caprified, will likely have a different flavor (and viable seeds). You can get a idea from comparing pix of fruit at various locations around the country versus pix of figs at UC Davis (which are presumed to have been caprified) - you will notice quite different colors in many cases.

Its the crunch from the figs I like!!!!! I hate a fig if it doesn't have the crunch from the seeds. I don't know about flavor, I have never really singled out a seed to taste. I think it just all blends together to make a PERFECT fruit.
