Do I win the award for most overcrowded mini fig farm?

There's still room! Right? I'm stuck with an apartment for another year, but I wanted to get a head start on my little fig orchard. I figure by Summer/Fall of 2017, most of these guys will have been through enough to be toughened up and ready for some in ground planting. Am I missing any "must have" varieties or do I have most flavor categories covered? And just a heads up about DonCentralTexas: great shipping and plants just as pictured. Highly recommended! Thanks for the new figs. Hopefully the Preto makes it!

Ok hands down you win for tge most figs on a apartment balcony. Are you saying you have all the figs growing on your balcony?
I also have the celeste from saxon becnel. Its in ground and,going to fruit this year. Very very good work. I zoomed in and really looked at how healthy they are and really liked the stacking pots technique. ;-)) which tree is the tall one with single lobed leaves to the far left

Sure do! All within 5+ hours of sunlight. Would you believe there is a large, 5 foot tall bay laurel in the back, two black mulberries(tall tree on the far left in the picture, and smaller dwarf next to it), a plum tree, sweet olive, jasmine sambac, a little bit of rosemary, some basil, and a large pot of hoja santa. A local passion vine or two as well. Oh, and a bit of lemongrass that I've had to cut back twice this year already... 

It's a nice, little space, but I cannot wait to get a bit more space!

...an Arctic Frost Satsuma is struggling with dappled shade due to my fig addiction this season. Hopefully it survives.

The good news is that you are on the first floor, which also means no structural issues with the building.
"A picture is worth a thousand words". Now I could really see how many trees would fit on my balcony should we decide to move. Where are you located?

No structural issues, but back issues prior to hail storms are a real thing! I'm just outside of Dallas.

Speaking of Bay Laurel, this tree is my pharmacy tree. I have a tiny one in a pot too and will miss the one in my yard, which is about 10 year old and 6 ft tall.
They say they don't do too well in pots. How long have you had it in pot and what do you feed it?

That's a beautiful tree. I bought this one from a Calloway's last year. It was leftover stock from the year prior, so I got a heck of a deal. I have it sitting in a large 20 inch wide pot(same height or so) and it gets a bit of fertilizer in waterings (foliage pro 9 3 6). It's all I currently have and seems to work. I use a bunch of leaves for tea and cooking. This one is called Emerald Wave. It's a little crazy looking. I've never shaped it. Lights a little off due to sunset.

I never shaped my tree either. I just pick leaves from the bottom.
The shape of your leaves is definitely different from mine. Yours are more elongated. This is most interesting!

Sas, where are you moving to? What are you going to do with all of your fig trees???
