Does anyone have extra Fig Cuttings?

I am new here and not sure how this all works but PM me if you are able to help.

I am new to starting figs from cuttings. I have a few small plants and am now looking to try to start plants from cuttings. I live in the north east and if anyone would be willing to ship me cuttings of any variety I can send you shipping costs. I am just starting out trying to do cuttings so am not picky with variety. The ones ive seen online are way more then what I want to spend at this point. Any cuttings would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.  It's a little past cutting season, which is why you might not get any replies.  Cuttings are taken when the figs are dormant.  It's spring, and they are leafing out.

Just so you know.

Thanks! I have learned that its slightly past the season for it. I have seen people online take cuttings from fully leafed and fruiting plants. I was just hoping to find one or two people willing to send them if they had extras so I could start a collection.

jwarren93 look at thread titled massive fig cutting giveawy there 5.00.

Also on ebay for example instead of cutting 1 can get a live plant such as mission, turkey, magnolia and maybe others as those were the first 25 or so listings on first page alone .
Cost shipped to you 12.00 .

The thing is green cuttings don't do so well shipped.  You really are better off getting rooted plants now and waiting for fall to get cuttings.  Some people may have extra cuttings in their fridge and if so you may hear from them.  But it's late for that.

rwarren93,
Where do you live?
I may have some rooted later on but it is hard to ship them.

JWarren, Yesterday I got a call from a friend that a neighbor had cut down a big Hardy Chicago  tree and a Sals tree and what was left was free for the taking.  When I got there there was a huge pile of limbs, both varieties were mixed, so no way of knowing what was what.  It was raining hard and the leaves were barely wilted.  Anyway, I cut off the leaves and tender tips so all is left is last years wood.  No guarantee if these cuttings will grow, but they looked good enough to give it a go.  I cut up maybe 300+ and plan on experimenting as they were goners anyway.  If you want to give them a try, I could send you 10 to 20 cuttings for a cost of $6.50 to cover a small USPS priority box, baggy & paper towel.  They will not be labeled but I know they are either Sals Belleclaire or Hardy Chicago.  Personal message me if interested

Take your time, read all you can about them, decide what you are looking for. Then look around you. There maybe figs in your area. Try to root unknowns first before putting alot of money into cuttings. I would send you cuttings but this is my first year myself. Will have some soon I hope.
