i noticed this after i took a batch of green cuttings off my brown turkey. the new growth contains no figs at all, and the figs below the cut turned brownish and stopped growing. they remain fibrous and white inside.

now after several weeks, some of the new growth is again making baby figs. this time, i'm not taking cuttings, because i'd sure like to get a ripe one before the first freeze in november.

as an aside, how long after the first appearance of a baby fig does it take to harvest? assuming i've got 60 days left, do i have a chance of tasting a fig this year?
