Dominick's Fig Update

WOW !!! what an amazing response I got from my fig story and cuttings offer. I will email everyone so please bear with me as the letters keep pouring in. I will guarantee a cutting for everyone who request one, either a rooted one during the summer or dormant cuttings in sometime around Oct / November here in Norther New Jersey.
What a wonderful group

That's very generous of you and a lot of work.  It will also add up to a lot of money for postage.  Feel free to let us help pay for the postage.  :)

Yes I would a least pay for postage. Do you have a picture of your tree or fruit?

I'd love to see some pictures too, and would enjoy hearing more about Dominick's story about the fig tree. I would certainly at least pay for the postage as well.

For you leaf experts this is a Dominick .  What does this look like
Having some problems making the iPhoto picture files small enough
Here is Dominick in the ground as a bush, in garden spot, and a home made "Bill's Fig" ripoff.

Coop, I know a fig tree grower who specializes in Italian figs.  I can show him the picture and ask him what he thinks. (Do you know roughly where in Italy Dominick's family was from? the general location could help a lot) Could you describe the fruit size and color?

Pics of ripe fruit (outside plus a longitudinal slice showing the inside) will help a lot with ID.  I've got some thoughts from the leaf, but too many possibilities and the ripe fruit really is necessary to make an ID in almost every case.

Again it's a great story.

Really nice trees Coop.

For 6 cuttings, you can expect to pay about $3-$4 to ship First Class Mail.  Usually a 3 day trip.  I'd definitely have a Paypal account set up so you can accept payments.  Good luck.  It's a lot of work!  I did over 50 packages last winter.

I LOVE THAT BUSH!!!

I wish I had a backyard.

generous offer,   like the others said, none of us will mind paying postage

thanks coop.

Thanks for the pictures Coop. It's a beautiful tree. A paypal account is a great idea - shipping for each of us will get pretty pricey and I would send , no problem.

Nothing wrong with paying postage.

I agree if you don't have paypal you should set up an account to get payments for postage. It makes things super easy.

Nice looking trees and a great story.

Hi Coop,

It's OK to accept paypal. Even make a little profit.
I've send out over 150 packages not long ago.  A couple extra $ each package helped me to cover paypal fee, packaging, gas, toll, and lunch to my friend who helped digging out the tree.

If you don't want to setup paypal or don't want to handle all the hassle. I am also in North NJ, and willing to do all those for you.

Would love to have one.  I would pay postage
