I had to do it.It kept chewing on my figs and leaving them on my pot.I'm really hoping to get Genovese and Preto to ripen for me this season and hate to see a few missing.

Wow!  Not sure what it is, but it is dead!  So throw it in the compost heap, and let it make more figs for you!!

I would hang it from the fence as a warning to others.

We have a lot of raccoons in the neighborhood. I fear that once my figs start producing it will be an all out war.

Afraid to ask what and how it encountered it's demise.

It is a dead squirrel. That thing has been eating my figs and tomatoes so I went and got myself a BB gun.I'm prepared.Yes Grant that would be a great idea.LOL.

It seems to work,  most animals don't like being around dead of their own kind.

You might want to read this before "hanging them on the fence or a place that your neighbors can view". I do understand the frustration, though. Did the same two weeks ago to a chipmunk that ate the first 4 ripe figs off my O'Rourke. Took a pic or two as well.

Navid.

Good shot Robert. I need you as my neighbor lol. You got to do what needs to be done. I am sick and tired of squirrels.

Robert I heard that you guys get a rifle for a first birthday LOL. Am I right.

Thanks Navid for the heads up.
Eden not the first bday It's around our 5th bday lol.

I have 7 dogs .Two Boxers, 3 Mastiffs,  A Rott/Pit cross and a Chihuahua. I have not had a rodent or skunk problem in years. My only pest is Starlings . I hate those  (PLACE FAVORITE EXPLETIVE HERE).  They arrive around the first week of May . After I take out several with my Paintball gun. I hang them in my apple trees. The wife thinks I'm insane but after about 2 weeks no more starling on our property. they leave with a quickness.

I shot eight squirrels last fall, alone.  Looking forward to having target practice on this years crop.  Now I'm trying to "remove" a big fat woodchuck from my garden.  Missed him twice, so far.

I used a similar approach to take out 2 squirrels about a month ago.  It was sad but I've had the best tomato crop ever!  My cat looks too cute to be a good hunter but this spring he took out several chipmunks - this is probably another factor in my gardening success this year.

I found this picture on the web a while ago. Cats are great pest control. Some are more geared to go after birds and squirrels because they are small and nimble, like this one here. My friend's cat kills rabbits!

p.s. A bow with zwickey judo tipped arrows is in my opinion a better idea than a BB gun at short ranges. There is less of a chance that the squirrel will run off wounded to die elsewhere in the neighborhood. It is not everyone's cup of tea though.

Problem with cats and dogs, that in certain areas, they are prey too.  Nobody here lets their cats or dogs out because of the coyotes!  I'm with the BB gun group!

Being a hunter I have no problem at all shhoting a squirrel that's eating the figs I work so hard to get to fruition. Instead of shooting them though I use a rat trap with peanut butter as the bait and it works out very well, I don't advertise the fatalities though, just toss em in the trassh and smile, :).

Very quite day today in my backyard just seen the birds thanks God no squirrels.
