Dried Figs at Costco

I was at Costco and I was surprised when I saw they were offering dried figs I've never seen them there before unlike the normal dried figs that you see in the grocery store these need to be refrigerated after opening  $9.49 a bag there's allot in the bag

Hey Dave ,

Are they any good ? Any pics of the actual figs ?

John

They're pretty good.  No preservatives.  Look kinda brown but still tasty. :)

can you show one split open.

They are very good a little bit more moist then the normal grocery store dried figs I think they have a much better taste, I looked on their website and you can order them direct from the company besides the Calimyrna Fig they also sell a mission fig

Here's the website  http://www.madeinnature.com

Sweet thanks Dave heading to Coscos tomorrow morning.

BUMMER ! there web site says no mission figs this season due to poor growing conditions :(

I bought some organic California figs for 7 bucks a pound from nuts.com. Very good.

Wonder why they need to go in the fridge after you open them ?

I also bought some figs from Nuts.com.  Turkish figs were excellent!!

The "Made in nature" figs from Costco are great! $9.49 for 40 oz  which is about 50% off their retail price can't  be beat. Unfortunately our Costco ran out of them almost immediately.

I had these at a natural foods store last year.  They were pretty good but nothing like fresh.

They were $6.99 at Whole Foods in Birmingham, just a month ago. Much better than their (same brand) dried Blk Mission figs.

Navid.

I like them. :)

Those look pretty good.  I recently got some dried figs that were for sale at the local Walmart.  They had so much preservative added to them that it ruined the flavor.  The figs pictured above are organic and have no preservatives added.  Yummy.

Found them in the Toronto costco at Dufferin and Wilson .
My wife picked them up for 9.99 .
They are quite good .

John

Dave,

Thanks to your timely tip, I scored a bag at our local Costco in Carlsbad.   I found them to be very tasty, a larger white fig vs. the small black they were selling last year.  The store seemed to have ample supply and I will grab a few more bags before they run out, as it appears they have in some parts.

BTW:  I noticed they come in two different designed bags.  Same product though!   Here’s the other not previously shown.
Also want to try posting first photo....... :-)

I checked last week in our local costco. Not there. But I'll keep watch.

It's going to be a long time before there will be any fresh figs on the trees. I'm really looking forward to them this year. Many exciting new ones to taste. :)

Jack they are good aren't they, I went back to Costco 4 days after purchasing the dried figs hoping to get some more and they sold the whole pallet full not one package was left in the store maybe next time.

already went through 2 bags. very tasty.

I bought some made in nature figs from costco and never refrigerated them. They help up really well. But maybe that's because it's winter.

there back..................

Drats!  I was just on our local Costco today too... and looked for figs, but there were none. There were dried mangos, apricots, dates, raisins, blueberries, mixed fruits, prunes... but no figs.

Maybe next time.

I picked up some Apricots also very very good.

When packaged,
bags are filled with Nitrogen, which retards spoilage.

Once opened, the nitrogen is lost,
oxygen begins to degrade the product.

Same with potato chips,
bags are nitrogen flushed,
they can sit on the shelf for many months,
no loss of quality.
Open the bag, and two days later they are stale.
