This is the first fig tree I purchased about five years ago. It was just called a "dwarf fig". I have done very little pruning to it ni that time and the nodes are very short. What I'm not sure of is what type of fig it is. If anyone has any ideas I'd be happy to hear. The figs start out dark green with small white flecks and mature to a golden green with traces of the flecks remaining. The eye is fairly tight, but opens slightly when fully ripe. It is on the bland side, but sweet enough to keep since it is so small.

Looks like a "honey" fig to me.  I have trouble ID'ing green/yellow figs, and I've seen serveral, with people calling them all kinds of stuff:  Marseilles, Blanche, Lemon, Honey, Italian Honey, Peter's Honey, etc.

I think the dwarfing/weeping is unique - strange mutation maybe?

The dwarf effect is def a genetic condition that can be seen several varieties. Where is the actual crown of the plant as one can see the branches go every which way. I do enjoy a change of form and function in plants from their normal cousins. 

Have you tried keeping it more bushy?

Thanks for the pointers. it sure does look a lot like Honey to me. Guess I can cross that one of my "to get" list!  Chris, I haven't tried to shape it at all beyond cutting off any branches that extend too far below the base of the pot. I enjoy it's crazy corkscrew shape.

I never see dwarf one but i think this is Kadota.
