I came across another unusual fig related topic that might be of interest. Many natural plant materials can be used to dye fabric and fixed with an appropriate mordant. http://naturallydyeing.blogspot.com/2011/06/ficus-carica.html
Interesting find. I am surprised that it produces a yellow dye. So many plants leaves produce a rather boring "Army green". I left a post asking how color-fast the dye is.

Thanks for the post. I think I will try it, or maybe just heat the leaves for the fragrance:)
