Earliest Bearing Fig Tree

Hello All,
I'm new to the forum.
I have a lot to learn from you all.
What would be the earliest bearing fig tree variety in zone 8 and 9 ?

Thanks in advance...

Where do you live

Friend of mine lives in GA.
he would like to plant one tasty fig tree that fruits early.

Hmmmmm. Interesting. Are you the same person selling cuttings on eBay?

I live in MD zone 7

is there a big difference between zone 7 and zone 8 ?
What would be the difference in days ?

In Houston, most of the time, 'Celeste' was my earliest.

Do you know what part of Georgia he lives in? Big difference in North to South if he wants to plant
in ground

Thanks James,
I have celeste.. but its still a baby..
Whendid you get the first fruit in texas ? june ? mid july ?
thanks in advance

Are you talking about time of the year or age of the tree.
Most of  Breba fig will do good here.

If you want the earliest producing TASTY fig tree, go Celeste. Personally, zone 8 or 9, I would buy a Negronne. Tastes better than Celeste. Avoid Brown Turkey. Tastes like ASS.

Usually by the end of May it would start ripening.  If the winter wasn't too harsh, I could be eating figs after the first week of May.

June for breba on Celeste in z7 to z8 (for me). Negronne... I'd need to look back on my posts for 2012. (Sorry, prefer answering some things publicly)

sounds good...
is celeste in a pot ? or will it survive being outdoors in zone 7 ?

Celeste is OK outdoors to zone 6 at least. Negronne also. Negronne tastes better. Celeste is a 6/10. Negronne 9/10. Brown Turkey 2/10.

woww
Negronne must be good...

When does it ripens ? mid may in zone 8 ?

Though I agree with Jason's comments about Brown Turkey, I think it's also worth noting that English Brown Turkey (aka Eastern Brown Turkey) is not at all the same as "Brown Turkey".  English Brown Turkey is a completely different fig from Brown Turkey, so don't confuse the two.  English Brown Turkey is quite sweet and tasty, and has also been the earliest ripening fig for me (up in the cold northeast, central NY state, zone 5).  I have no idea how well it performs in the Southeast.

Mike   central NY state, zone 5

O'Rourke (not the IC) is one in Z6.

St Anthony is very early for main crop. Celeste, blue Celeste. Rmali.
