Earliest Bearing Fig Tree

Jason, you say brown turkey taste like ass. Then later on you rate it at 2/10. So my question is, what does your 1/10 fig taste like? wow

Hi Eden, sent you another reply through the forum.

I am not getting any.

You should hear what my 0/10 fig tastes like.

As tempted as I am to make a quip about how much ass I've eaten in my time (can't help but LOL at that), I'll just say this:

0/10 is totally inedible to me - may as well be eating mulch with ketchup - and 1/10 is equivocal to eating a green, immature fig that's 5-6 weeks from being ripe - it's barely food. Really, 2/10 is edible, but it's one of those "why bother?" moments - might as well be licking someone's (preferrably washed) butt, it'd probably taste better.  3/10 is getting into better territory, but I just don't bother with anything less than 5/10 these days, and really, looking to whittle my collection down to 8/10 or higher in varieties that aren't prone to splitting.

Michael brings up a good point - I can only comment on the generally-accepted strain (common) Brown Turkey, of course, not the "English Brown Turkey", which is supposed to have some redeeming quality/ies.  Someone should really rename that fig - if it tastes good, it doesn't deserve the "Brown Turkey" badge.
