Looks at these breba figs -- they are really early!

Late maincrop in Maryland. Not early breba in Australia.

Hi nanozhou,
Keep them until Christmas and pretend that this tree comes with its own decoration.
Just keep an eye on them as some critters (insects) are smart enough to dig an hole in a fruit and overwinter there. I guess you don't want that.
One year I left some on  some trees. They just ripened at the same time than the brebas. Main difference was that most had cold burn stains on the skin ... So not doing it again.

That's not necessarily old growth. At this point in the season it could easily be this season's growth that has already lignified. Those figs looks like main crop that didn't ripen before the leaves dropped. You can see the spots where the leaf stems were once attached, and they are below the figs. Brebas usually set below the leaves, whereas the main crop usually sets above the leaves.

Of course, you know that I am joking. LOL

Anyhow, weather forecast says that the Nov/Dec weather will be mild in Maryland this year. So I hope that some of the green figs will get a chance to ripen, even without leaves on the tree. :-))

Wishful thinking, maybe~~~ We will see.
