Early October figs

When I came home from work today this is what I ended up with.  (Sorry, but the color is a bit off as I was using a camera I'm not used to using.)  On the left is Vasilika Sika (the Dalmatie type), the two at the top-right are JH Adriatic, and the one on the bottom is a very ripe Bari.  The V.S. was the first fig I have harvested from this variety which was rooted in Spring 2013.  It was excellent but I would still rank JH Adriatic a bit above it because they were a bit more rich and complex.  Bari has been a very dependable producer of very tasty figs since early August and there are more ripe Bari figs on the way.

Steve nice pics. I agree Dalmatie & JH Adriatic are 2 excellent figs. In your opinion is Bari a Mt Etna type fig?

 Pete

Nice figs!  Are these in containers?

Pino, the Bari is in a container while the others were planted in the ground in May.

Pete, that's a good question.  I don't think so.  The leaves seem a bit different and the figs are a bit larger than SalsEL, Takoma Violet, and Marseilles vs Black which I also grow.  Those three are clearly highly related figs while Bari seems distinct.

Congratulations!

Nice figs!

Nice going Steve - lets hope our Winter is a tad better than last year!
