And one happy infant lol She had a fit when she finished and there was no more.

Nelson, you are a double blessed man. To be able to share your passion of figs with your child.

My wife came in while I was reading your post, and thought she was one of our grand kids.

A very beautiful child, and a delicious looking fig. When she has grown up, she will cherish the memories of eating figs with you.

Can you describe the flavor of the fig?

Bob

Hi Bob, thank you it sure is nice to be able to share my passion with my little girl Jasmine. Not sure if she has a strong attachment to this fig because it was rooted same month she was born but this plant will be considered her fig tree from now on.

Flavour, well my first thought when I first started chewing was not too bad at 1st but after swallowing the fig the strong berry flavour was definately there not extremely sweet but a nice balanced flavour this was the 1st fig I ever sampled from this tree still about 2 dozen figs left hopefully I will be able to describe the flavour a little better when the other figs ripen.

I really liked the colour on this fig think it is due to not getting allot of direct sun probably 3-4 hrs tops of direct sun daily wich didnt seem to affect flavour.

The mother plant was orignally rooted from UCDavis cuttings. My plant does not seem to be heavily infected with fmv just a few spots on a couple leaves very minimal.

Hi Nelson.

I think they are both beautiful! Especially your daughter.

Vito

My has Cute Jasmine grown seems like yesterday we were seeing her baby picture you posted.

Need to get her booked on the next Iron Chef fig challenge.  I see a discerning food critic in the making.

Lost the cuttings I had of this fig. Can't tell if I now want to try it again because of the pictures of the fruit, or because of the picture of your sweet little baby!

Thank you everyone she really is a sweet kid and great eater loves fruit actually I think she likes everything lol. This fig is a nice tasting fig again only had one so hard to judge but this one did have a very nice berry flavour.

Nelson
Wonderful fig pictures and of the family enjoying the figs fun together.
Jasmine has grown up fast.

Do you think this "Early Violet" is really early compared to other figs in your location or is it a misnomer?

I tried giving Avery a JH Adriatic today.  Just got my second of three figs off the tree.  She wasn't bonkers over it but liked the pulp.  Mom had to finish it for her and my wife said it was ten times better than the last one, and that one was great.

I can't wait to get with Avery to the point that you are w/Jasmine  :)

Hey Jason dont worry my friend in due time you will too be enjoying eating figs with Avery. The first fig Jasmine tried was a store bought Calimyrna and she loved it but only the pulp on that fig. Up until now her favorite was petite Negri but I do have 2 close to ripe Adriatic 0-11 I got from Jon that I cant wait hands down best tasting white fig in my collection that I have tasted thus far.

Hey Nelson,

Jasmine needs a brother or sister. The dog alone won't cut it.

Rafed, I agree atleast one more child would be awesome.

Akram, I have had a horrible fig season weather wise I would say it is earlier than Hardy Chicago as I have no ripe HC figs yet and probably wont for another 2-3 weeks.
