Earthquake.

Any else feel the Earthquake that came from Virginia
at approximately 2 p.m.?
I was on my roof watering the figs
when I felt everything move and shake.
Hope everyone is alright and uninjured.

I have been in the house and it was wobbling back and forth,at 1.55PM.
I have been trou a 7.5 * earthquake in 1974,up on the 5th floor, and thought I will die there and then,so I knew what it is ,took my granddaughter out in the yard,in about 2 seconds.

5.9 NW of of Richmond, felt from RI to NC. It was my first so I bugged out a little and thought maybe it was something in the basement until I went outside and heard the other buildings shaking too.

In New Bern, N.C. just a short litle roll, at 1:50 .
Earthquakes and BIG hurricane all in one week!
Hope that noone sticks pins in my picture!!!
I don't need more troubles.

Yeah Martin dropped his plate of figs on the floor!

Now you've gone too far, Dominick! LOL

I felt the house shakes too, throught it is coming from a construction site. I was about to grab my son and leave the house.

Now flash back, I think I should because I am scare to throught about it.

From initial news reports, it does not seem to have been any injuries reported.

Thank God.
Pray everyone is O.K. and their property undamaged.

As I wrote earlier, I was on my roof watering the figs when the earthquake struck.
and I swear to God I thought at first :  " That's it!, I finally put one too many figs up here It's caving in. "

I ran down the fire escape, thinking I really did it this time...

Never felt a earthquake in N.Y. before.

Scary.

We had a couple of people report 'monitors shaking on the desk' here in Atlanta.  I thought it was just low blood sugar.

That's funny, Nick! Glad you (and the figs!) are ok.

That's a big one even for Calif. Glad everyone is OK and no major damage occured.

I felt it. My computer was shaking a bit and my office door moved back and forth a little. It was about 5 seconds, long enough for me to realized it was not someone running or jumping down the hall way!

My first ever quake.. I hope the last!!

They evacuated center city Philadelphia I didn't get to go home

Oh Nick...you made me laugh with your thoughts of the roof caving in.  I see on the news (CNN) that Colorado had a 5.3 quake today also.  Hope all is well, and stays well for everyone.   Here in KY there is a HUGE FAULT line, so I am trying to find out with the quake in CO and the quake on East Coast if they are concerned for "my" fault.

Hope everyone is alright.

We even felt a little bit here in North East Georgia.

Prayers for safety and best wishes to all.

I am glad people are reporting they are okay on this forum. I felt it heavily here, I thought my ears were clogged or something thought I was dizzy until I saw all the family pictures on the wall shaking and banging, husband got shook in the chair. It was 10 seconds or so, I have been in earthquakes before but still scary. You go for your loved ones to protect them. Ciao

I felt it here in good ol new haven connecticut!

I felt it in Hamilton NJ. It was really strange at first since I didn't know what was going on but after it hit me that we were having an earthquake I was freaked. My mind is on preparing my family in case there's a catastrophe. My husband says I'm melodramatic but you never know.

Thanks for starting the thread, oldghost.
No one at my home believed me when I felt the earthquake at around 2:00pm and mentioned it to others. So I thought may be I was feeling giddy. So it is confirmed that I was right. Probably I was sitting calm at the computer desk so I felt it while others were busy doing things around the house so they did not feel it as I did. The earth moves were gentle here and not sharp.

I have missed it, but had few customers  who felt it while eating lunch. It sounded like it was easier to detect while sitting than walking or standing

I didn't feel it but they said they felt it in Boston. Walls were vibrating from yelling at the kids. Probably couldn't tell the difference.

All my figs  the green and the ripe ones were shaken off the trees.

Oh nos! not the figs!! report the casualty!
