Earthquake in San Diego

I heard on the radio that San Diego had an earthquake yesterday. Jon, you okay? More to the point are the figs okay. ;)

Everything okay Jon? Ciao

Hope All is Well.

Dec. 30, 2009: A 5.9 magnitude earthquake at 10:48 a.m., centered 23 miles south of Calexico, about 100 miles east of San Diego, was felt from Los Angeles to San Diego to Las Vegas. Other earthquakes, a 2.6 at 9:57 a.m. and a 4.9 at 10:53 a.m. were also felt.

No big deal. I was in my car; missed the whole thing.

Jon great to hear. Maybe it loosened some root bound trees. Lol

Jon,

Remember when my cousin and I visited you?

The funny thing is when we were on our way to you I told him why are you driving  so damn crazy?
He said take it easy bro, The road is bumpy.

His wife called a few minutes later and said the whole house was shaking.
He called his brother which is only a few miles away from the house and confirmed it was an Earthquake somewhere near L.A.

He said see, It wasn't me, It was the earthquake! LOL

I think I emailed Bass or Gorgi about the visit and the quake.

It was centered quite a ways east of here, close to Calexico, on the US-Mexico border, so it was fairly mellow when it reached here. Each one is different, depending on the earth formation under it. The movement can be side-to-side, up and down, more shaking, more rolling, and duration can vary widely from a few seconds to minutes. The strongest close one, here, was in about 1983-4, 5.3 magnitude, and was really just one huge up and down movement, where you literally came off the furniture, but only lasted 3-4 secs. And, of course, it matters how strong it is and how close you are to the epicenter.

I was at home reading the forum when it hit. It was a nice rolling wave, almost like being buffeted by winds while driving. It was centered about 100 miles from here. Not even close to an E-Ticket ride.
