Today I picked several "Stella" Figs, they were huge compared to my other Figs and they taste great...Took a few photos of one of the Figs.....I love my "Stella" Fig tree....She is still young! ....Get ya one, I think you will love it.... Frank from Bama
Looks very nice! I like to wait until it pushes some honey out of the ostiole and it gets very sweet and like pure jam inside.
Wow, now I really want one! Your tree is definitely happy in your yard.
Your tree looks very healthy and happy! How old is your tree? It looks a decent size, but I am use to growing them in containers so this stunts the growth. Great picture of the fig, what is the taste profile?
Hi Frank. Congratulations. That's a great fig, I have a small plant that has about half of dozen fig on it, I hope they ripen before we get frost. my large one died last year. Vito
That looks great, Frank. May I ask how old is you tree? Is it a fast grower for you in ground?
Becky...This was a cutting in Spring 2013 Grew real well last year and then the Winter of 2014/2015 killed it to the ground. It came back later in late Spring and grew like a weed this Year...I did have it mulched with Wheat Straw about 6-10 inches.....Taste is Outstanding super sweet and juicy.Bill....this Spring 2016 the tree will be 3 years old. It was top killed last winter but still produced Figs this year and they are Yummy! It looks like I may have some that will not ripen! Good Luck!Frank from Bama
Pretty pics, Frank! You've got a pretty neat fig orchard started. I bet the squirrels think so, too...
Heheh... How about fig and pecan-stuffed stewed squirrel?
Love my Stella too Frank! Squirrels got more than me this season, the worst part was they were taking them not even ripe
Beautiful fig! Big and juicy. Thanks for sharing
