This is probably a long shot, but is "apache011-2" a member here? Aka Rudy from arizona.

I bought some cuttings from him a few months ago and they all molded and failed. He said he would replace them if needed. Anyways, i cant email him through ebay to ask him. Im getting an error message.

Figured id give it a shot here.

Thanks,
Eric

Oh cool. Thats a nice feature. Thx

I don't think he's on here.  I bought peter's honey cuttings from him last year.

DallasFigs - Did they Peter's Honey cutting turn out to be the correct variety?

As I posted before, I have bought cuttings from him, nice cuttings, good service.  I will check to see if I have an email for him.

I got some vigorous Flanders cuttings from him last January.  I agree with Danny, "good service."

I wonder if he should be added to the vendors list.

I am reluctant to make any recommendation.  I don't have any problem in stating my experience with a seller, good or bad but I am not sure I even support a "Good" list.  My experience with apache has been good, it even includes a minor screw up by him in one of my orders.  I was shorted one cutting in one order and he promptly fixed the problem.  I do not count that as a bad experience, some might.

I recently posted the good experience stating "good cuttings and good service", some one started a discussion in my thread about whether or not they were true to type.  Firstly, I did not mention true to type and secondly, I was not worried as there is usually no doubt about Texas Blue Giant figs and if they were wrong, I would state it, and expect the seller to fix it.  I have no reason to be suspicious of anything with apache so until the cuttings prove otherwise, they are correct. If I kill them, their tombstone would read what I bought them as until proven different.

Maybe beginner's luck, but I thought I'd put in a good word for Apache011-2 on Ebay. He gave me my start, as so far every cutting I have gotten from him last year and in 2015 has rooted. All 7 of the originals from April 2014 (6 ordered) are growing well and most have little figlets now a year later. I will soon be able to confirm the varieties. Desert King has it's breba and one of the 3 Peter's Honey is over 6 feet and showing little figs. The other two are right behind it but not as large. Full blown addict now  - with 50 varieties so far, all 1-2 year trees.

I've had many cuttings from reputable sellers rot and in some cases had to purchase certain cuttings twice.
Nero600M comes to mind. After two attempts, I finally have a specimen.  The variety, time of year and the method used all play a huge role in how successful you will be.
I also noticed that certain varieties have a much better chance to root in the spring (when actively growing) rather than during the fall/winter.

I too am pleased with how well the cuttings I purchased from Apache011-2 are doing. I ordered 3 each of two varieties. He shipped 4 each. All rooted and have nice top growth. Will have to wait to determine if true to variety.

I bought 3 Black Mission cuttings from this seller a few weeks ago. He threw in an extra one for free -- 4 good-sized cuttings arrived, well wrapped and healthy. All of them are doing well, with roots at least an inch long in coir. It's too soon to tell if it's true to type, but so far, so good.
