Ebay scam Dausername1

Purifying my stuff. Sergei Snitkovskiy, Another Russian, what a surprise. I contacted him because he showed pictures of long fresh cuttings and sent short old cuttings. He sent an immediate refund and said he would change the pictures, he didn't. I am dumping 6 varieties from these schmucks. It even looks like dausername1, radyslava, and 77peony pull from the same tree, I would put money on it. The member that had his picture used was probably just the picture to make his crap look good.

The good part of this lesson is that it has caused me to account for everything, and document it. 3 months wasted...better than years.  lol

You should grow them out to show everyone what variety they are or from the same tree. Everyone has said they are a scam but know one has showed what it looked like in the end.
I know most of the cuttings they sell are always rotted
Cian

Nothing has grown. 77peony wanted the cuttings back she's got em When I pulled them there was absolutely no signs of growth 30-60+ days. Dausername1 so far no sign of growth. Working on Radyslava, still have them, but no sign of growth. Minus the mob showing here, my starting rate is @95%. If anything does grow, I will grow it out to see, at this point just because.

I was scammed by 77peony. Everything I got failed and no refund. I bought from radyslava and those cuttings failed, however I got an immediate refund from rady.

FYI - I did some searching and the user ID name Dausername1 did not show up on eBay, it's actually dausername1 (lowercase first letter).

Какая страна живет эти продавцы мошенники якобы "русской"? В России, я никогда не слышал этих имен, фамилий.

If I am buying, I would only buy from directly Bass, Jon, Harvey, Vasile or regular participants in the forum. Not worth waiting for
some 3 or 4 years before knowing what the real variant is. In my early years as a fig hobbyist, I was scammed in trade by a guy posing
as grandma and almost all the cuttings were Brunswick & Osborne Prolific. This guy also uses this forum as a short term member and many
other F4F forum members were scammed by him too.

Cute, translation?

There is a difference between selling something that doesn't grow, and something that isn't going to grow.

New to figs, not gardening and not born yesterday. My case;

1. near 100% germination rate, almost 100 plants started. 3 types and 8 cuttings from radyslava, 2-3 months 0% germination? I have been growing from seed and serious gardening for almost 20 years. If I get 0% on anything there is a problem.

2. Every response in the forum had the same experience. Please chime in with positive results.

3. Why are they all sending small, thin at least two year old wood? Because they take longer to root and members have the courtesy to wait which puts you outside of the return policy. In other words you won't have to wait two years to find out you've been had, just @ 2-3 months.

4. How big and old are these trees that there is an endless supply of rare, older wood cuttings from different types, in an apartment in New Jersey in the middle of January? Should be able to see them from the interstate 95.

5. abcd, abcd gulenok, Alex gulenok, radyslave gulenok, Korina, names used in reference to @10 different ebay accounts that have, according to the posts here, been scamming people for years.
My experience confirms what I have read. See ebay scammers thread.

6. Yes, I have and am, growing several plants from older wood.

7. If you see I am wrong here please correct me. I can always learn something new, but as an employer, I would want to know if someone had a history of deceiving people for years, before they had access to my business and lively-hood.

8. When you give these people the opportunity to explain or at least reassure you of your purchase, it doesn't go well. I am in the middle of this one, but as an example, when I politely addressed 77peony she was immediately defensive and basically told me to screw off. I said not a problem once I got my money back.

9. The repeated pattern of scum taking advantage of peoples generosity and kindness may not stop, but where a pattern exists it should at least be annoyed if not terminated (meaning Ebay accounts).

Do you think all the cuttings this guys sells has issues? I ask because I bought two Ronde de Bordeax cuttings from him a couple weeks ago, the cuttings look ok but according to you, they may not be what I thought I was purchasing. The only way to know is wait two years when they are producing fruit. I don't want to wait two years to find out they are some other variety, I have enough celeste and brown Turkeys, I don't need more.  Thanks for your information and warning though, I definitely won't be doing business with this guy in the future, I use a seller out of Quartsite whenever he has the variety I am looking for, goes by apache011-2. So far so good with him.   Newk
Also if you  notice, all his cuttings are $10 before shipping, I don't care how common or scarce they are, all $10. He also lives in New York, I have learned not to trust very many people who live in New York. I think he's from Brooklyn. Figs 4 Fun needs a list of all these ebay and yahoo scammers.

Well, Paul, if you were not scammed then, I would not have had Osborn Prolific from you for a long time . Grandma did help.

I received lsu gold from him and honestly will not know myself for prob. two years, if they grow.  Posts have listed him as unreliable, among others. My experience was getting older, or too old wood as described above. He is currently listing on Ebay, using pictures of fresh, long cuttings and sending old ones. He has made a choice to continue to deceive people on a daily basis, so you decide. I would contest the sale for a refund and see what you get if they grow. I think the route on this for larger sales with scammers might be filing a complaint with individual States Attorneys and consumer protection, as Ebay is numb to this. I have been filing "Item not as Described" complaints to listings, but they are perpetual. Nothing new, Buyer Beware.

Last night I did notice dausername1 had many types of figs listed, and ending, with no bids.

Thanks Mike for the Information!

It should read:

Ebay SCUM Dausername1

Ottawan -- your Osborne P. came from Michael's mother tree

Unfortunately the generosity of members that I unknowingly came across first, led me to this trap. The first person I asked a question to, and corresponded with, happened to be James. One of the first people I bought from, and traded garlic and seed with was figgyfrank and other reputable and generous people, with time, patience, information and cuttings. My first plant was given to me by Mario. After over 1000 transactions worth @ $50,000 online, and ebay, buying coins, cars, guitars etc., I never imagined the first real scam would be figs. $$$, yeah I get it. This site is awesome, but being new you also need to know what questions to ask. Keeping a post like this up front keeps it seen where us newbies can find it. My hit was fortunately minor. The good part is, it has caused me to document my sources, while I still could, and keep records of who they are passed to. I have been growing cuttings since September and have already given away ten plants with more to come so it may be responsible to keep track also.

I PERSONALLY HAVE BOUGHT A LOT OF FIG TREES OFF OF EBAY AND WHATEVER THE PICTURE IS, THAT'S WHAT I GOT, BUT I ALWAYS SENT AN QUESTIONAIRE TO THE SELLER  ASKING THEM IF WHAT IS IN THE PICTURE IS THE ACTUAL PRODUCT I WAS GOING TO BE SHIPPED!!  NEVER A PROBLEM YET!! GOT LOTS OF DIFFERENT VARIETIES!  J.F.Y.I. !!

Man! I wish I have seen this thread before ...

I recently bought some fig cuttings from dausername1 - what a nightmare - just for me paying for them (p/p shows transaction still pending; why?!?).
I asked for a cancellation for the whole deal - if not and if the cuttings are in bad shape; I' ll return them asap.

Stay away from this guy (ChristopherR ?).

George, you will be happier to do the right thing -- i.e. cancel.

There are a lot of trusted members on this site.  I would recommend trading or buying from them if you are looking for cuttings.

Won a bid from dausername1 on Kathleen Black, all rotted, not a single cutting even began to bud. I should have known the cuttings looked nothing like the pics.

@paully22: Done.

Edit:
Giving some credit due; dausername1 DID work with me very nicely about the cancelling.
From what I'm reading here, one ailment seems to be that some people (before selling) need to learn how to 'winter-store' fig cuttings and keep them viable ....
All is swell that ends well.

In all fairness, canceling works to this scammer's benefit as well...  they cannot receive a deserved feedback from a buyer on a canceled auction.

Almost bid on some I-258 cuttings from this guy on eBay but decided to check here first. I guess this is a scam? dausername1?
