E-bay seller

lordv08 is an E-Bay seller selling green tip cuttings the seller has now pulled there listing. However there is a new listing under the E-Bay seller wendi2604U using the same information and pictures as the first seller. It is the first seller using a different account. The new listing does say they are green with leaves. The original posting did not say green leaves and tips.

Not sure if there legit but if I were buying on eBay would only be from diesler,Leon,Herman, bass,Gorgi, ejp,Jon encanto that's who I know is legit and has great plants not saying that the other people are not legit just prefer buying from these sources.Enjoy

I see what you are saying, the first one doesn't say they are green with leaves but it does say they are fresh cut when you order and it is summer.
Maybe they got some complaints and changed it and it may have not been clear but I'm not sure that is fraudulent.
And she does say that the other listing was her husband.
Now they could be total ripoffs I don't know I have never dealt with them but from what I have read it wouldn't concern me too much

For 9 bucks I took a shot- she has a good score so I said why not. My curiosity was killing me.

I do not see anything fraudulent or misleading about lordv08's ad. He is making no false claims or representations. The ad leaves much to the imaginaton, but it is honest.

The only thing I notice is the first auction which is now closed was for 12 cuttings and the second auction is for only 5.

There were two offerings- 1 for 5 and 1 for 12- The 12 was for about 2 dollars more. To tell you  the truth price was good but I have no idea what I would do with 12.

I got 5 cuttings from them..So far I lost only one..
I got them, because they was cheap and I want to try Bass method of rutting green wood.. So, they doing good.. Don't know about fruit yet..But they did root for me.. So, if someone want to try, why not..
So far I don't real like one variety I got from Ebay from unk seller.. Figs spleating and don't taste good..But from another seller I got fig..I'm very happy with, one of best tasting one I have.. Also unk..Call New Jersy..
So, I try to buy from unk sellers.. Hopefully soon I will find out about another unk.. still way to go, but hopefully I will be able to try this one..

I have those cuttings...the 12-item listing....and they sent more than 20. A variety of soft, green cuttings--with small leaves and a few baby figlets, then some lignified wood--no leaves, a few baby figlets, then some hardwood--no leaves, no figlets.  SO, I am trying Dan's method with some, then have some buried horizontally, and others are rooting vertically.  A few of the hardwood arrived with fine, brown roots are the nodes.  Being so new to fig-world, I don't know why there would be fine, brown roots at a single node unless that area was covered or close to the ground??
Anyway....maybe this time next year between Olga, Dom and myself and F4F we can figure out what cultivar this is.

On the new listing she mentioned a few suggested Genoa. We shall see. I'm very curious.

Dominick,
I'm glad you still curious:-)
How many do you have now?
And which one your favorites?

I just looked at the listing. She said it is a yellowish, green when ripe with a pink interior. But I have heard there is a 'Black' Genoa as well, but have not seen it.

Olga

As far as favorites- Too soon to say, they are young- 1 to 3 years- But I am seeing a few that may be discarded sooner due to growing pains

As far as number: Lets just say 25 to 50 plus :-)

I got the reverse interpretation.  Here the listing in quotes about the fig" Meat of fig is light to dark pink. Skin is yellow /greenish when ripe. "

Oh sorry- I thought you meant the current- I'll be unsure until it leafed out and fruits

I received the cuttings today. There was 7 instead of 5 which was nice. But boy were they short. Most only had 2 nodes. So I'm trying to root several ways in soil.

I assumed the standard for All types of wood was 6 to 8 inches.  I was just surprised since all the cuttings I have received before have been quite a bit larger. I am not too worried about the rooting aspect since the majority was lignifing already.

I'm treating them like any other cutting.

My update: These were all short, only 2 nodes. I was able to get a few to root, and leaf out, but in a matter of hours every leaf drooped and fell off the plant. Had not been showing ANY signs of stress, and plants were inspected every single day.  Thought maybe it was just a strange dormancy, but even the wood shriveled up and died off.  Would be most interested in a plant if anyone has an extra.

Big fat thumbs down.  I should have stored them,  then rooted with the my others in sphagnum moss.

I was impatient and careless.

I bought 12 cuttings ,all 6 to 8 in and they thought they were geonia. I got them because they were cheep and I had never done a hardwood fig cutting before and thought if I messed up I was not out much. Out of the 12 cuttings I have lost one and 2 others have droped there leaves. The others drop a leaf now and then but keep going. I put them in   compost that i got to wet.I have potted one up so far and its doing well.I got the cuttings about 8 weeks ago. Rex

saramc, sent you a message.Rex

Thanks Rex...perhaps you will be the successful grower.

Wow, this is very interesting and educational. To think, that my wife and I are being studied like this. We have improved our methods, learned the ropes, and have tried our best to please all of our customers. We have learned a lot, and we consider ourselves part of the fig growing community. Thanks to all that defended us in this post.

Randy (the husband) and Wendi (the wife) LOL.

This is good to know and good stuff. It will only make us better. Thanks

It's also funny that you say others uses ANY photo. Wendi and I were looking at our Facebook page today and saw a photo that looked exactly like one we posted a while back.
