Ebay Seller

Does anyone know the ebay sellers johnsvmf1 they are supposedly 2 college students selling their fathers cloned figs while he is off fighting. Here is my concern. They say the father is a member of f4f but give no user name. They have some pretty hard to come by figs and if you ask a question it won't go through "due to the high volume received by this seller". Their feedback is a little over 300 I believe and they ship the baby figs UPS GROUND. Says if you want it faster you will have to pay extra but the shipping is already $15.

Something doesn't sound right to me.

Is super legit, you can trust them.

Tami , no worries here . Vinnie and his sons do a great job . I have bought from them before and had no problems whatsoever.

Tami, I purchased a couple from them last year and they were
very nice trees and everything went well.

They are legit. I got some quality plants from them last time.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the reassurance.

Tami, this is John's F4F profile. You can PM or email him from here.    http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/profile/682196

Thanks Mike.

I would go crazy if I come back and my figs are gone. I'll use that money to buy two new fig loving sons.

John is a good legit FF member person;
but for some reason, he does not post that-often nowadays...

With your recommendations and seeing he works with FF members I figured what the heck and went after some plants on his eBay. If you do not do as he says when he says you are the bad person and treats you like crap.

For instance I have been in communication with Vinnie on adding figs to the auction won. During the conversation he files a did not pay claim through eBay. So I would advise to not bid on his items or to be very cautious when doing so.
I had budgeted 250.00 for items and then the extra for shipping.

I e-mailed him through the forum the day Mike gave me the link and have heard nothing at all in reply.

Tami, I sent you a PM

Chris, I'm confused about what happened. Did you want to add items to what you had won and he never responded and just filed a did not pay claim?

Travis.

He responded on ebay but seems to be very impatient. Also seems to not understand basic english and terminology.

I've had a very pleasant experience so far, though it was a simple transaction. I received an e-mail after winning letting me know some basics on what I should expect and how to take care of the tree upon arrival and then another e-mail letting me know it shipped. It should be arriving tomorrow, I'm looking forward to it.

Tamar,

Those are eBay generated emails.

As a seller one can set-up basics email notification when certain actions are completed.

I think what Tamar meant was this email.

Dear #######,

Congratulations on the purchase of a great plant which are on their way
We use screws to secure the plant within the box. Please use a Phillips head screw driver to remove the screws starting with the screw on the bottom of the box then all four sides. Carefully remove the plant which may be stressed from the trip. Water the plant deeply until water drains from the bottom. Place the plant outside in a shading area that does NOT receive direct sun. If the plant doesn’t show signs of stress than you can gradually move it to spots that have an increasing amount of sun. Your plant is well rooted and needs to be potted up. If you pot your plant up follow the steps when you unpack the plant. Which is transplant, water deeply, place in an area that doesn’t receive direct sun. If the plant doesn’t show signs of stress move to area of increasing sunlight until it is in a full sun location. I recommend that you look in the fig forum for Dr Al Tapla’s fast draining soil recipe. Thanks

Yes, I received that one, and two others since that were more "personalized."

Peter,

Yes, this is one of the automatic emails when shipping slips are generated in their system.

I have just recently purchased from johnsvmf1 on ebay and he was an  excellent seller.  He communicated with me about the shipment and even asked if I had a wish list for a bonus he offered.  I would definitely purchase from him again without hesitation. Look at his feedback, some of his buyers are members of this forum.

I just won an aution he had on ebay, wrote him inquiring about shipping in this heat and he responded super fast reassuring me that there wouldn't be a problem. I got a good feeling about him, he offers bonus cuttings and seems to know what he's talking about, gotta give him a thumbs up!
I just hope the it cools off by sunday like the weather people say .
SEGeo,maybe you just caught him on a bad day? we all have them.

Has anyone recently received anything yet from his recent auctions? I know he had a few items that ended a while ago. I just won an auction. I'm hoping they hold up well during shipping with the heat wave and all.

I received mine yesterday, and it was in very similar shape to the picture of it (which had a few yellow leaves on it). The cuttings he sent were in great shape.

That's good to hear. I was hoping not to hear any horror stories. :)
