Is anyone else following the Ponte Tresa on ebay today?  Heading toward $1000

Yes Chris, I know it is crazy.  I bid in when it was below $20.  Great for the fig world that they can be so valued and a patience game for those, like me, that will be waiting for the star, Ponte Tresa, to be more available to all the fig lovers.  I hope there are lots of people growing the hot pink lady.  I am waiting for mine.  ;-)

   Finally...   After having struggled with the burden of having a daughter married and living abroad for the last five years, I may have found the one bright spot in it all.  I can send that hubby of hers on mission to collect this UnObtainium for me.   (And knowing him,  he'll probably jump at the chance to please the 'Old Man'...   as you can tell that he is on pins and needles when they visit our home;  due to my other obsession, collecting firearms.  (He is not even allowed to be in possession of a pocket knife in his country)  When he walks into the armory, the look on his face is priceless...  it's as if he thinks that I could go postal at any moment. LOL!!)

that is so funny and sad at the same time.
i live in europe as well and am not allowed to have any guns by low (or a pocket knife. lol)
i have 2 ponte tresa plants and cuttings and would trade them in a heart beat for my old Desert Eagle my glock and my s&w... i do wish i had my toys again... (i guess i need to move back to the states) badly!!!

No guns in Britain mate, even the police (other than the armed unit) hang arround with tazers .

Maybe on Monday if we have some time we can use my dueling tree a bit.  I usually shoot right near my fig orchard. :)  I need the practice.

if you guys can reschedule, (my passport is not valid) and can lend me a toy to use, i can come in august... it will be a better time for me to visit.
as long as you 2 are taking pops at the tree, ill be doing some fig tasting on the side ;-)

  Harv',  after practicing picking off the scampering fig-thieving rats in the orchard, Andreas is not going to pose much of a challenge as a moving target...

    We feel for you,   I've got a good friend here that immigrated from Australia when they began their confiscation of firearms.

   And your welcome to sample firing most any of the sidearms I have on hand.  Now that you've been teethed on the Desert Eagle, you can step up to something with a little more horsepower.  Say, the Freedom Arms .454 Casull and S&W 500.  ;-)

so i think ill sit and enjoy some of his figs. if he gets me ill go down happy :-)

  Not a problem, Andreas.  In fact, I think that I've got about the perfect platform for you to ease back into the saddle again.  A Sig Sauer P229.  I can start you out with its .22LR barrel, and switch it out to 9mm, then to .357Sig, then up to .40 S&W +P with a 10 second barrel change for each.

  Just give us the heads-up before you wing yourself this direction..  and we'll ready the peanut butter and banana side-dishes for Harvey's  figs.
