eBay unknowns

Holy cow! There is a bunch of unknown out there, and Gorgi is selling loads of them!! Marius too, gosh I want the Yellow lebanese fig.. Look yum. I wish I could buy all of them, but my wallet can only afford so much.... Craaaap.

Off topic.. I just bought JH Adriatic from KK from garden web off of eBay.. He took off most of the soil from my really young plant, I'm scared because the roots barely hung on, the roots were wrapped in damp newspaper, when i took the palnt out, i noticed it was hanged for dear life.. So i potted it up immediately- i am very disturbed, will it survive the shock? The roots didn't look like as pictures. Really disappointed too.

I asked if he could send me a replacement. I have to wait for his response...
I would upload photos but my IPhone will not let me :-( for what it was worth, he did ship fast- I think he was trying to save money from shipment, but was really risky of him to send bareroot, h should of left it in the 16 oz cup ( I ordered off the side.. Not through eBay)!

figs are really hardy and will take much abuse. I have a few air layers taken last Oct and they have not been potted yet. A few is even left out from the plastic wrap baggie & I dipped them in a pot of water once a while.

If you have potted up the plant received, I would keep in shade or partial shade. Better still, take some leaves off and placed a large clear plastic bag over them if you do not have a green house. Humidity will help.

It's fine. I have gotten around 30 like that in the mail from forum members and nurseries. All have survived and flourished. If the soil would be shipped, you would end up with A $30+ shipping cost.

If worried, bury a little deeper and roots will form there as well.

Speaking of unknowns on eBay, does anyone know what this might be?  It's titled "Well rooted fig tree - large green figs".
