EBT Brebas on First Year Growth

Here are some of the breba crop on my "Sunbird" EBT tree. This tree died to the ground this last winter. Everything is this year's growth. At first I thought the figs were all main crop, but as they ripened I realized these are brebas. Has anyone else seen this on one season's growth?

Maybe I'm getting the brebas because the new growth on this tree started so early in the year. The tree resprouted back in January while in the greenhouse. The main crop has just started swelling.

So far these haven't been very good, but a couple ripening now show more promise.

Looks like a heavy bearer. First year crop especially Berbas, is never an indication of what's to come.

The discover of the mother tree has said that this is one of his best and most consistent producers. Breba and main crop. I did keep an eye on the mother tree this spring, as it is on my way home most days, and it was covered with figs for many weeks.

The tree pictured is one tough tree too. I got it early last year when I first got into figs. It then died to the soil line after I up-potted it the first time (luckily the only time that's happened to me). I thought it was dead. I just never got around to throwing it out, and then notice new growth. It regrew most of last summer and fall, and then fell pray to our few nights of 17 degree temps this winter. It died back to the soil line again. And came back again (twice in one year!). After the second regrowth I up-potted again and found that it had complete filled a 4 gallon bucket with roots!

It looks like the wood has had time to harden and is no longer green. I guess your early start allowed this to happen and would help explain the breba crop.
