No -- the fig turns dark color when fully ripe. Hope I can get pic of fully ripe Elana. Some critter(s) have been stealing figs in the night.

Yup I feel your pain, between ants, birds & Squirls dont think I will be eating too many ripe figs this year.

Yup.  Know the pain!  Got to harvest 2 almost ripe whole and 3 half eaten but almost ripe figs from my BT that had 50+ on it.  Now I'm waiting for a fig at a "school" that is just beginning to ripen.  But the incredible quantity is steadily dwindling due to tall the critters even thought they are just beginning to sweeten.  In five years of knowing this tree I have yet to see a ripe one.  So I'm hoping for a hidden one!  Funny thing I have two cuttings of this tree from March that are doing well.  One had two small figs on it - now there is only one!  I guess the critters really like this one no matter where it is and how unripe it is!

Dan, looks like Rafed is getting famous for all the "right" things. I got to send Rafed an invitation and get him to camp near my tree next summer to get this nuisance critter(s). Of course red carpet will be rolled out for his welcome.
