Emma Prusch Farms

So, I went to visit the Emma Prusch farm today and NONE of the figs were labelled! It was nice to see some big fig trees, but not so nice to not know what kind they are!

Is this the place in San Jose? I thought about stopping there next month since I'll be in san jose, but thanks for the info.

Were any figs ripe? Did you speak to anyone about the figs and their varieties? No-Cal CRFG may have a layout since they help maintain the trees and that is where they have their yearly scion exchange. Was it worth going?

Sue, no ripe figs. I figure they will need at least another month of time. The weather was also very cool. It was an OK trip to see it. Because the trees were not labeled, it was kind of disappointing.

Saw mention in other posts of maps of the fig orchard somewhere in circulation but, no luck locating these. Any leads on this would be greatly appreciated. Visited the park today with my family for the first time and was amazed to find such a wonderful treasure in our "backyard". Figs were ripe and incredibly tasty. Now, if only I knew what I gorged on this afternoon, I might know what cultivars I've tried thus far ;-)
