Okay guys, I feel like I'm gonna be left in the dust here. What is the procedure once the list is posted?

He'll post the procedure once the list is posted.  I blew my week off so I'm going to have to quit my job so I can be right there when it comes out.  Generally the procedure goes something like this:

Jon's hidden clues in Ontario and you have to go there, get the first clue, which basically says something like, 'go to Morocco and bring back a certain native plant, and give it to a guy in Paris, who gives you the next clue', and on & on.  Every year it gets more involved.  Along the way you will find coupons for certain cuttings.  You send them via carrier pigeons you've trained to go to Encanto Farms if you want that variety.  If not you can offer it for trade on the forum.

aww.. he said he wasn't going to do that anymore after that big fiasco with the Hawaiian Hula dancers last year...  I still feel bad about all those fig leaf hula skirts I gave out....  on the other hand, my stock purchase for Anti-Itch Cream paid off...   I'm In!

Thanks for the heads-up. I don't think I can afford this. The cheapest flight from Denver to Ontario Canada is $866.00. Also, I thought carrier pigeons were extinct:)

The passenger pigeon is the one which is extinct.

A carrier pigeon or messenger pigeon is a homing pigeon (specifically a domesticated rock pigeon, Columba livia) that is used to carry messages. Using pigeons to carry messages is generally called "pigeon post". Most homing or racing type varieties are used to carry messages. There is no specific breed actually called "carrier pigeon".

Scott, that's good to know. So, are these pigeons provided or do I have to train my own?

You have to supply and train your own.

Include a couple flipper (tumbler) pigeons to distract the hunters.

Rafed, I was going to type an acronym for what happened when I read your post, but I did not think anyone would get "MIDASTWIRT" (Man, I did a spit take when I read that").

Jon,  I want you to know instead of getting all anxious about how long it was taking, I have embraced the process.  I was going through my wish list over and over examining the nuances of each cultivar.  I have been fine tuning to get the maximum enjoyment from going through your offerings.  I'm would be sticking to that story, even if it didn't get me preferential treatment.

You guys are so unfair! The closest breeder of tumbler pigeons is in Albuquerque NM. It's gonna cost me even more to fly out of NM, and then I have to pay for the pigeons too. I'm gonna have a cry and then I will have to make an appointment with my counselor to get over all this meanness. All I want is just a few fig cuttings. Gee whiz.

and i thought, he gonna do it Alphabetically, using your last name....

Ok Milehigh,

Find Waldo and we'll let you in.

He's standing right there next to the fig tree!

Rafed, that is cruel !
By the time she is done, there will be no figs left!

Jon,  Let me know if you want me to proof read the list before you post it....
