The plants are usually only available in the summer.  Right now we're in the cutting frenzy. 

Last year, I came on board about a week before the list came out. I had no clue about all the different cultivars. The list totally overwhelmed me. After some quick research, I picked out about 10 different cultivars and had my order in before the end of the 3 day window mentioned above, so it would be considered as day one.   I got about half of those I requested. So yes, they do go fast. 

A few weeks later, a very generous member (Kerry), gave me nearly everything else I had on my wish list. 

Thanks DallasFigs. I have to chuckle to myself because most of my figs are chewings--chewed up by one of my dogs who does eat figs and restarted.
