Enrico Breba & Main Crop

This plant is in its second season and has been impressing me didn't drop any breba even after being hit with frost a couple times and main crop is well on its way. Pics below are from two different branches.

Enrico has impressed me too. The breba on one of my plants (winter stored in cold cellar) are the same size (big) as yours but the main crop is smaller as expected since our spring is delayed by two to three weeks compared to Toronto area.
The 2nd plant was stored in the garage and is just greening up and no breba (probably breba embryos died in cold garage).

Hi Akram I agree even here in Toronto everything is behind atleast 2-3 weeks. Vincenzo still has no signs of main crop Nardi Black is starting to form Main crop really excited about that since I really like this fig. Im sure Enrico will ripen all of its figs this season hopefully we have a long season or else the majority of the plants will not ripen any figs. 90% of my plants dont have any main crop figs yet only about a dozen plants have main crop figs on them now.

Nelson, thats a nice main crop. The main crop Enrico fig is smaller in size, slightly bigger than a golf ball but more productive. My mother tree is just starting to show main crop. Its been too cool here and it would be difficult for main crop to ripen for me.

Hey Paul, you know its crazy Exactly 7 days from when I pinched the tips I noticed main crop forming above the breba on those two branches. The bigger main crop figs are the size of a quarter already and I am sure these will ripen in time and cant wait to sample them.  Funny that the lowest Breba on that branch is half the size of the others weird no? I would of thought it would of been the biggest.

Could of used another day or two but the squirles are already stealing and taking little bites of the unripe figs, this one was knocked down with the hose while watering plants oh well it still tasted pretty good.

Nelson, Enrico will turn red & then purplish. Check out the thread by BASS on tennis ball size fig. That was Enrico breba. From reddish to purplish, I think it needs 4 to 5 days.

Hey Paul, yes I agree it was still pretty good but im sure when fully ripe it will be much better I was annoyed that the hose got tangled up when I pulled it hard I knocked over a few potted figs and knocked this breba right off AHH the stupid things we do when were hot tempered.  There is one breba left on the tree told my dad to leave it on until its dark purple question is will the squirls get it before he does since 2 of them already went missing at this stage or ripeness. Starting to wonder if its the squirls or my father hehehe.

Nelson,

My Enrico went to fig Heaven. My Vicenzo is growing well and the Nardy Black has a couple little figlets on it. Hope they will ripen for me.

Paul, You gave me some Genoa cuttings at the time of the visit. Can you tell me which variant it is? I have one growing slow and still in 1gl pot. Looks like it will remain there till the next season.

Rafed,  cuttings of Enrico ready for you in Fall. By the way, I have no idea as to what strain of Genoa that is. I was told it is Genoa. If it is not growing well, I would suggest in late winter or early spring, pulled the plant out. Pruned a touch of the roots and used fresh composted soil and put it into a slightly larger pot. Start light fertilizing when you see green growth for at least twice a week. I use general purpose Miracle Gold and I add a handful of mushroom manure. I did this to at least 8 plants that were reluctant to grow especially Blk Maderia, Shar Amber etc and now, these plants have taken off beautifully.

Thanks for the tip Paul,
I will try it next year. Hopefully I will be out of the road by then to spend more time with the family and then plants.

Rafed, I will do a small air-layer for you. Should be ready for pick up by late Sept/early Oct. Would send East when you visit our guru. Anything else?
