every time i water my figs..

it rains right after.. ok, who in this forum was born in year of dragon? stop carrying the rain around!

Don't know of the Dragon but I was born in the "Year of the Dark Cloud".

Hey Pete.  Send some of that out here.   It's rained once  since January.  We got...maybe...1/4 of an inch.    Temps are back in the 100's today.  Figs love it.   My wife (who pays the water bill)... not so much.

Here take my rain. It's been raining all week here in Spokane, Washington.

well.. state of washington is one thing.. i'm in NC. it shouldn't rain this much.. it must be global warming thing.. weather change.. i don't know what it is, but i wish dave and other can take the rain and get some use out of it and let us dry up a little.. sigh..

I'll take anybodys rain.  I water my figs every night hoping it will rain afterward, no luck.  My rain barrel and buckets have been dry for over a week.  Haven't had rain at my house for nearly two weeks, 30 minutes away where I work there have been two heavy downpours during the same time, go figure.

I think Houston ignores mother nature and rains when it wants to. All 5 minutes of it and back to the normal heat.

right after my last post, my Kathleen's Black took a sudden heavy wind and went down.. lol. ran out in the rain and had to right it. i think i need to tie them down this yr.

SoCal is as dry as a fig jerky :(
Send some rain over here!
100 today, and tomorrow and day after.. oh well, and after too!

In primitive cultures, the act of watering to get rain would be considered sympathetic magic. You are basically doing a rain dance, Pete. Keep it up. It's saving me my water bill over here.

Pete, I see you have an 80% chance today and I believe the forecast calls for the chance of rain going up next week
for us both with some tropical moisture from the Gulf of Mexico.

been raining almost everyday. but they were thunder showers. almost like watering daily. next week looks little worse.

Hey Pete, guess what I did this morning? You got it and it is pouring as I type. LOL

put some fertilizer and lime today. way it's been raining, i figure the rain flushed them out everything from the last application.

I'm with Pete, we've had so much rain here that I haven't watered my trees for over a week. It just down poured about 2 hours ago. Forecast is for rain every day until mid week. If this keeps up I'll need to build an ark.

Thunder showers here every day. Torrential rain a few days ago.
Fertilized all the outdoor fig plants yesterday, just before a thunder shower, but had a few hours of sun. Today the plants have gotten a shade or two greener. I'm on the computer now, waiting out another thunder shower, I'm actually trying to up pot the 1 gallons into 3 or 5 gallons between showers. The plants are actually progressing quicker than last year because its also been warmer that normal, so no complaints.

This is our 4th day in a row over 100F following an rare summer rain storm for two days which bumped up our humidity.  LED headlamps are great, I water at night.

few of the larger containers were not draining fast enough. had to go out in the rain with 12" flat head and start punching into the soil. at this rate, i might as well turn off my drip system.

Trying to get Espoma Plant Tone in all my 135 pots before
the next deluge. The forecast is for 3-5 inches of rain this week
with all this tropical moisture coming in from the Gulf of Mexico.
Starting to see some signs of rust showing up already. Will give
them good spraying of Daconil between rains.

Pete, I just heard on the Weather Chnl that some places around Raleigh got over seven inches of rain today. I guess
this is priming the area for whats to come this week.

mike, last two days' been ridiculous. we had flush flood warning. my yard was flooded soon after it started. the containers which drain well were also flooded. good thing i keep all my new cuttings at front where they don't get rained on.

My Petite Negri brebas are finally ripening.  Plan to hope for rain to hold off until I pick them on Tuesday.  I've pretty much written off anything past Tuesday, given the predicted rain totals.  I'm also relatively high in a subdivision with a lake, so this is taking me back to the flood of 2009 when some houses here got flooded.  Hopefully, that won't happen again.  When I saw those rain total maps for North Carolina, I sent a little fellow feeling to bullet08 and snaglepus, and shuddered.

The last few times I have fertilized, we have gotten rain so hopefully it's not going to rain in the next couple days, last time I threw some lime on the soil so it got leeched in, whatever didn't overflow.
